When Christian Science is studied and applied as it is given to us by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, it will be impossible to avoid the good that will come to us. I speak from actual experience. I owe my life, happiness, and prosperity to Christian Science.
For several years I seemed to suffer with about every ache that the human body can have. Not one organ functioned without the aid of medicine, and many different kinds were used daily for relief. I was also under the constant care of physicians. I was filled with fear and became very weak and thin; and finally it ended with a nervous breakdown. The physician upon whom I greatly depended to save me reached the extremity of his knowledge, as he told my sister that I was beyond all medicine, and that he could do no more. He then added, "Have him try Christian Science—it may help him."
That doctor could never have said anything more wonderful. It was the beginning of a new life for me, although I did not realize it at the time. I was tossing about on a bed, expecting every moment to be my last, as my heart was beating very slowly. Quick action was taken to get me to a practitioner who lived a very short distance away. I do not remember how I got to her home, but I do know that after two hours of silent and audible treatment I was completely healed. I ran back to my home feeling like a small child with a precious gift. And was I not in possession of a precious gift?
