With heartfelt thanks I send this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science. My work is dancing, and I have been wonderfully helped through Christian Science in the fulfilling of engagements. Over three years ago, when starting the first dance of a performance, I was attacked by the knotting up of the muscles of my right leg. I was unable to continue the routine, and could not step on the right foot. The following morning I was unable to walk. I could step only on the toe of the right foot, because my heel was drawn up so that it would not reach the floor. I called a taxi and was helped to a practitioner's office, which was about eight blocks from the hotel where I was stopping. After receiving treatment I left the office and walked normally back to the hotel and many blocks beyond. I did not miss one performance and had very little pain. For this beautiful instantaneous healing I am profoundly grateful.
Previous to this I had a growth on one of my feet which had the appearance of a large wart. It caused me considerable pain and annoyance because in my dancing it came in contact with the floor and would bleed. I worked on this problem for about a year and then decided to have a practitioner help me. I received three treatments in one week, and the following week the growth disappeared and has never returned.
I was healed of sore throat by reading and understanding the words found on page 14 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints." I was healed of neuralgia almost instantaneously, after having severe pains in my head and teeth for twenty-four hours. This healing came when I was reading the chapter on Prayer in our textbook. I have also been healed of a tendency to catch cold, of tonsillitis, indigestion, pains, dislocations of the knees, and fatigue. I can endure more physical exercise than ever before.
