It is with a heart full of gratitude...

From the September 1932 issue of The Christian Science Journal

It is with a heart full of gratitude, which words cannot express, that I submit my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science and the benefits derived therefrom.

As a child I was subject to bilious attacks accompanied by chills and fever; later in life I suffered with sick headaches and neuralgia. In 1911, I became a semi-invalid and was taken to a hospital in a neighboring city, where I remained nine weeks. The physicians told me they could offer no permanent relief, as the disease was incurable. So I returned home, where this condition persisted for five years. During this time I was confined to my room, most of the time in bed. As food of any kind caused great suffering, I could eat very little, and this added to my already depleted and weakened condition. One day I attempted to walk alone and fell, badly hurting my head on a piece of furniture.

In the meantime my husband passed on suddenly, leaving his business affairs in such a tangled condition that his family was cut off from every means of support.
