Testimonies of Healing

I should like to have words to...

From the November 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I should like to have words to express my gratitude for the wonderful change that has taken place in my life since I became a student of Christian Science, but, like all Christian Scientists, I find that words are quite inadequate. I will, however, begin by enumerating some of the healings that I have had since taking up the study.

From childhood I was troubled with a spasmodic condition of the stomach that would attack me about every two months. It was very painful and most of the time it caused me to be away from my work for two or three days. When I was a boy, my parents tried many medical remedies for a cure, and when I arrived at the age of helping myself I, also, resorted to various forms of medicine. I also tried an osteopath and a chiropractor; also physical culture and autosuggestion; but I received only temporary relief from these treatments.

The doctors claimed that this stomach disorder was the cause of a very severe case of hemorrhoids, which gave me a constant sense of discomfort and pain. A friend of mine who is a doctor suggested an operation for the hemorrhoids, as he was of the opinion that this would have the desired effect on the stomach trouble. However, this failed to accomplish a cure.
