A DAILY PRAYER

From the February 1933 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Shine through the mist of mortal mind,
O Truth, today;
For it would claim Love's child to blind,
Obscure Love's way.
The potency of Truth divine
I fain would see,
For—seeing thus—the mist will melt,
And I go free.

Shine through the mist of mortal mind,
O Love supreme;
For Thou alone, omnipotent,
Can break earth's dream.
'Neath hatred's toll of pain and fear
I need not bow;
In Love—reflected—I express
God's image now.

Shine through the mist of mortal mind,
Immortal Life;
And hush its discords—sin and death—
And still its strife.
For Life is deathless, perfect, pure.
Life understood
Destroys the mist; reveals my life
At one with good.
