I feel that it is time that I once more express my thankfulness for Christian Science, and for the many healings that continue to come into my experience. One of the most valued of these experiences is that of spending some days at the Sanatorium of The Christian Science Benevolent Association at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. I was having treatment at the time for bronchial trouble, and was able to be about, to visit the practitioner (whose loving explanations have often since been remembered with good results), and to enjoy the midwinter cold. The condition improved at once, and the healing was completed three days after I left the Sanatorium. The sense of peace and harmony that one feels there not only heals but stays with one afterwards. The love, kindness, and consideration shown by all give one a better sense of home, and it is a joy to see the healings taking place.
I have been healed, amongst other things, of nervous breakdown, influenza, ptomaine poisoning, and chilblains. A quick healing took place when a spirit lamp exploded in my face. Although there was evidence of burns, the pain left after a few minutes' declaration of the truth, and I was able to leave the house to catch a train in less than half an hour, quite free. Scarlet fever was overcome in a few days by holding to the thought that the real man is wholly spiritual, and that "the pure in heart . . . shall see God."
I am grateful for an increased understanding of what The Mother Church means, and for the Manual; for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; and for class instruction. For all these blessings one's thought turns first to God and then to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy. We know that a right understanding of her place as the Leader, Discoverer, and Founder of Christian Science is essential to our growth in and demonstration of Christian Science, for the Discoverer and the discovery can never be separated.—Christchurch, New Zealand.
