On page 162 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "Christian Science brings to the body the sunlight of Truth, which invigorates and purifies."
During the world war I was severely wounded in the left leg and lay for four years in the hospital, where I had to undergo twenty-four operations. When I was released from the hospital, I had to wear a bandage for support and protection. At that time I was not acquainted with Christian Science, but I learned of it soon after.
It was just ten years after being wounded that I felt severe pain in my right foot. My wife asked me if I did not wish to resort to Christian Science. Thereupon I went straight-way to a practitioner, who began to work for me at once. That very day a jagged splinter of metal worked out of the middle of the sole of my foot.
