That God is not only able but willing to heal, guide, and protect each one of His children, as we are taught in Christian Science, has been proved to me so conclusively recently, and on several previous occasions, that I feel I should share my experiences and express my gratitude through our periodicals.
I was involved in an automobile collision in which I was thrown headforemost against the windshield of my car. I was rendered unconscious for the moment by the blow and received cuts on my head which bled freely. Several taxicab drivers came to my assistance. They picked me up from the floor of the car, and upon seeing the cuts and my dazed condition said they thought they should take me to a hospital. I told them not to do so, but to call the Christian Science practitioner whose name I gave them. They did as I asked, and the practitioner kindly told them to bring me to her home, and began treatment at once. The bleeding stopped quickly, and within two hours after the mishap I left her home alone and proceeded to make arrangements for the repair of my car. The cuts on my head, one of which was three inches long and the other two and a half inches, healed rapidly, closing as if drawn together by an unseen hand. Several of my friends were incredulous when I told them no stitches had been taken; and one person insisted that a clamp had been placed over one cut, as it had healed so perfectly.
Naturally I am grateful for this healing, but what I am most grateful for is the understanding, deduced from my study of Christian Science, that it was the loving care of God which was expressed in the kind help of the taxi drivers, as well as in enabling me to remember the practitioner's name, and to insist upon Christian Science treatment. Mrs. Eddy says on page 494 of Science and Health, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." It is through the study of Christian Science in connection with the Bible that we bring God's protecting power into our experience. Before I began this study I believed God could heal and redeem me if He wanted to, and how to enlist His aid is the problem Christian Science has solved for me.
