In an issue of The Christian Science Monitor, the space used by a certain business firm for advertising was devoted to an expression of gratitude to those who had made a certain period in their history successful. It was headed, "Thanking time has come." One reader's thought turned to the ways and means provided whereby we may publicly express our gratitude for Christian Science; for Mary Baker Eddy, its Discoverer and Founder; and for all who have helped and are helping to bring success in this great work.
Some twenty years ago, when a member of my family was suffering from despondency and a complication of diseases, and had been told by physicians that nothing could be done, Christian Science was brought to us by a relative who had been wonderfully healed in a few weeks, after a life of semi-invalidism, and a trial of every suggested material remedy. Christian Science treatment was begun, and gradually this one was restored to health and usefulness. The home became more harmonious in every way. Truly we are "transformed by the renewing of [the] mind," by learning to think correctly. Truth showed us that we had been worshiping the unknown God, destroyed this ignorance, and gave us the true God, who is Love.
I have been healed of chronic sick headaches, a badly bruised heel, burns, colds, and an organic disease that caused much suffering at times which, it was said, only an operation would alleviate. I was also quickly healed of a severe case of tonsillitis.
