Each day I am more grateful to God that I was led to Christian Science, the great truths of which, learned by studying diligently, are helpful in every situation.
I should like to tell of the healing which brought me to Christian Science. Within two years I had consulted five doctors, all of whom had been recommended for their distinguished reputations. Four of them could not diagnose my trouble; the fifth, head physician of one of the best hospitals in the United States, after taking five X rays, each one twice, diagnosed abscess on the bladder, but he was not able to help me. My condition grew worse daily, and I suffered excruciating pain; but "man's extremity is God's opportunity." My sister told me about Christian Science and assured me that it would certainly help me, so I asked a practitioner for help.
In one treatment I was healed of sluggishness of the bowels, which I had experienced in addition to the bladder complaint. I was instructed how to study the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and I was told that I might work my way out of this condition myself, through growth in understanding. The Bible verse, Isaiah 41:10, which the practitioner recommended for my closer consideration, proved to be very helpful in this work. In about a year I was freed from the bladder trouble.
