I AM happy to offer my testimony to the healing power of Christian Science. As I consider my life in retrospect, the first two thirds seemed dominated by false, material beliefs, but throughout the latter portion, the Christ, Truth, has freed me from the so-called laws of sin, disease, and death.
I had been suffering from tuberculosis and had become so imbued with material suggestions that everywhere I looked there seemed something to fear. While I was burdened with this sense of mental confusion and physical weakness loving friends invited me to study the Science of Christianity. After a number of months of thoughtful investigation, I became convinced of the truth in the Tenets of Christian Science. I had been advised to keep very quiet for a period of twenty-four months. I shall never forget the peaceful impression left upon me by the Christian Science practitioner, whose first words to me were, "You need the quiet thought." She truly pointed me to better things!
My husband and our two little sons daily studied with me selections from the Bible, with correlative passages from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, as arranged in the Christian Science Quarterly, and other authorized literature. Through our study and with the practitioner's help, added to my own faith in the allness of good, God, I was healed. Within two weeks I was keeping house and taking care of my family.
