THE teaching of Christian Science reveals to its student the truth to be found in the Scriptures concerning God and His man and His universe, the truth about Christianity and its healing power.
What, then, he is to do with his understanding of the truth as he receives it, how he is to hold himself increasingly receptive to its gracious appearing and its healing results, become the chief concern of every earnest Christian Scientist.
On page 157 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy we find the following: "Christian Science impresses the entire corporeality,— namely, mind and body,— and brings out the proof that Life is continuous and harmonious." To be open to this impress of Truth one must be loving the truth more than untruth; the heart's desire must be for the understanding of God. Truth should not, in the end, be sought for the rewards it brings; but rather because of love of Truth itself. Hunger and thirst for righteousness, Christ Jesus said, motivating thought and action, will find the way to all truth. Therefore, to receive Truth in daily thought and life, to have it impress "the entire corporeality," one must be seeking Truth with a purpose single in its desire for good.
