"THE allness of Deity is His one-ness" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 267). This statement of Mrs. Eddy's indicates that the oneness and allness of Deity includes all that is spiritual, healthful, joyous, eternal. It allows for nothing material, sick, sad, or temporal, for nothing unworthy of inclusion in infinite good. There is no exile from infinite good, no fallen standard, no irreparable wrong, no condemnation from the standpoint of infinite Truth. Scientifically speaking, one and all are included in the perfect oneness of God, infinite Mind, and Christian Science shows us exactly how to apprehend and prove this heavenly fact of our real identity.
The Christian Scientist's first task is to understand God, for only so can he understand himself and unravel the enigma of mortal experience. Conscious oneness with divine Love or Principle is the remedy for all fear, for all sinfulness and disease, all selfish sorrow and drab loneliness. These are but the ghosts of a belief that one is excluded from Love's all-enfolding harmony by some material and evil entity. To the loyal student of this Science, a suggestion of separation from Life and Love, from health, happiness, and prosperity, is not something to be temporized with, but to be rejected peremptorily in the name of God, good. It is not acceptable, but dismissible.
This Science calls for constant and deep study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, together with the zealous and joyous practice of what one learns of the Science of being. The reward of this study and practice is incalculable. It enables one to become proficient in the art of demonstrating intelligence, health, and happiness, through a clear understanding of the nature of Deity. Thus does God's infinite oneness ensure individual at-one-ment with Life, Truth, and Love, and preclude the need for vicarious atonement.
