Through the study of Christian Science, which gives us a clear understanding of God, man, and the universe, I have been renewed in many ways. It is the truth which makes free.
I was in a sanatorium from two to three years, for so-called tuberculosis of the lungs and throat, but I remained in the same condition. One day while I was visiting a brother, he gave me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and told me to read it, as it would help me. As I read I realized that through the textbook we learn how to acknowledge the one and only real God, and that by placing reliance and childlike trust in His power we are healed. I was convinced that it teaches the absolute righteousness which I had been earnestly yearning for all my childhood.
On every possible occasion I read, and the fruits were manifested in less than a month. One ailment after another disappeared. I was not only healed of the tuberculosis, which was supposed to have been inherited, but of continual headaches, coughs, colds, constipation, shortness of breath, fatigue, insomnia, resentment, depressed moods, burns, and ivy poisoning. An extreme fear of death has also been overcome by my knowing that God is Life. Many other false beliefs have also been destroyed.
