In Christian Science, living is active living. Idly marking time has no place in Christian Science. On the other hand, truly to press forward spiritually excludes the undue haste, pressure, and push of human will. True activity is spiritually mental, and a consciousness brimming with spiritual ideas is sure to mean a forward-moving human experience of service, growth, and interest.
The Christian Scientist will find joy all along his way, but he will not find mere ease in the senses on the way. He will need courage preeminently. He will need God-directed zeal, and will do well to cultivate it. And who has a better right to courage and enthusiasm than the student of Christian Science who, through the revelation contained in his textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is learning constantly more of the omnipotence of good and the impotence of evil, of the infinity of divine Love and the impossibility of any real opposite?
What is the eternal goal toward which the Christian Scientist is pressing? It is the recognition of full unity with God; it is complete realization of divine Principle as perfect and of man as God's perfect reflection. The Christian Scientist knows that he must eventually prove the unreality of all evil and matter, and the ever-present reality of good. Daily progress toward that high goal means daily demonstration, in human affairs, of the qualities of God, reflected in the man He knows. It means healing, working, loving, living, in accordance with the teachings of Christian Science.
