Testimonies of Healing

Words seem inadequate to express...

From the September 1936 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude for the many healings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science.

Our start in this Science came through the healing of my wife of chorea or St. Vitus's dance, pronounced as incurable by the medical practitioners to whom we went, because, they said, it had become chronic in three years and she was past the age when those things could be healed.

In first reading the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was struck by the words on page vii of the Preface, "The time for thinkers has come." I had thought I was a thinker, but found that I was only a dreamer. Through the study of this book I was healed of a valvular heart leakage, supposed to be the aftereffect of inflammatory rheumatism, and with the help of a practitioner I was healed of a broken ankle in two days. I was also healed of the necessity of wearing glasses, which I had worn for twelve years.
