I should like to give thanks for a healing which took place a number of years ago. In July, 1922, I was suddenly seized in the night with violent pains. We asked a doctor to come and he diagnosed the condition as an internal growth and said it would have to be operated upon. I went to the clinic in Rostock, Mecklenburg. There things were represented to me as very serious. I remained in Rostock, and my husband went back and told my sister that the specialist had said the operation would be a matter of life or death; for along with the growth, which was as big as a fist, there was also an intestinal rupture. They were all concerned lest they should not see me again.
Then my sister told my husband about Christian Science and said that it would help. At first he did not want it, but at length he gave permission for my sister in Berlin to call a practitioner. The practitioner immediately gave me loving aid, and my sister wrote at once and told me that I was having Christian Science treatment. I already knew of this Science, and even had "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy with me. I then got in touch with the practitioner. Three days later the growth burst and I went from the clinic to relatives in Berlin without being operated upon. The doctor said that I could never get well through Christian Science, but in four weeks I was entirely well. During that time I also had gallstone colic, which appeared to be very severe. I asked for help and was soon freed of that trouble too.
For many healings through Christian Science I am deeply grateful. My gratitude goes out also to the dear Leader who has given us the understanding of God and His Christ. I am also grateful to the practitioner who gave me so much help in the beginning and has always stood by me very faithfully. I am earnestly studying and trying to express in daily life the truth which has brought such great blessings into my life.— Brügge, Germany.
