AT A CHURCH MEETING

From the May 1938 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Let us be slow to speak,
Unless we first shall pray
That Truth may govern speech
And guide our deeds to-day.

So, keeping close to truth,
To patience, and to love,
We may more justly judge,
Nor wandering thought shall rove.

And seeing Mind as All,
We may, untouched by fear,
Act wisely and with love,
Doing God's business here.

Each motive purified,
No thought of human will,
Love present, infinite,
Shall whisper, Peace, be still.
