"Freely ye have received, freely give," said Jesus. Because I have received so many benefits through the study of Christian Science, I give this testimony, and hope that it will help someone who is also hungering and thirsting after righteousness.
At the beginning of the World War, I was worried and anxious over many things, and said one day to a neighbor. "Do you mean to tell me there is a loving God who allows these things to happen?" She said: "Oh, my dear, it isn't God! He knows nothing about war. He sends only what is good and true and lovely." What she said appealed to me very much. I found that she was a Christian Scientist, and when I asked her about it, I knew that it was what I had been wanting all my life. I wanted to know the truth about God and man, and I soon found that Christian Science also heals.
We have had many beautiful proofs of healing. My son had had frequent attacks of croup. This condition was healed, never to return; whooping cough was healed in one night, and many other difficulties were overcome. During the so-called depression, when all supply seemed to be cut off, we were helped wonderfully by knowing that God was our source of supply. We could not keep up payments on our home, and it seemed as if we should have to part with it, but in a seemingly miraculous way it was saved.
