Christian Science in pointing the way to eternal peace, gives many remedies for the warring elements which frail humanity may be mesmerized to accept. When a remedy, as found in the spiritual truth contained in the Bible or in one of Mrs. Eddy's writings, is scientifically applied, the result is found to be equally powerful.
The student, awakening to the infinite possibilities of this Science, realizes that he possesses the God-given ability to demonstrate perfect man, and he should be ever conscious of this priceless possession. He also possesses spiritual susceptibility, which can detect, and thereby enable him to destroy, any erroneous suggestion coming from the carnal mind, before it can take form in an event; and this is as true in regard to world affairs as it is in individual affairs. Mrs. Eddy has written in "Pulpit and Press" (p. 3), "Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love." Merely repeating our Leader's words is not sufficient; to know demands far more than to say.
It might seem as though the time had come which Jesus foresaw and foretold of certain world disturbances, wars and commotions, famines and pestilences, betrayal of friendships, men's hearts failing them for fear, and so forth. But even as he prophesied these he also indicated the remedy: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
