Christian Science has been my only physician for over twenty-four years.
The first healing which I experienced through my own understanding of Christian Science occurred shortly before I was to sing at a recital. I awakened on the morning of the recital with my throat so sore that I felt I should be unable to sing. I had heard of healings through the reading of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, so I read all day and did not sing one note, although my vocal teacher kept urging me to come to the studio to rehearse. I realized that fear was at the root of the difficulty, and that I needed to keep my thoughts above matter. I read only Science and Health, and when I went to the recital that evening and sang, even my teacher, who was very critical, said I had never sung so well.
After that experience, I knew that any problem which appeared could be solved through the right application of Christian Science.
