About two years ago our thirteen-year-old boy cut his hand in a machine. After a few days the condition became so bad that we consulted a doctor. He said that it was tetanus, and ordered the boy taken to the hospital at once. There the doctors gave us little hope.
My mother, who had been studying Christian Science for some time, told me that she wanted to work for the boy in Science. She told me that we did not need to yield to fear at all, for the accident was an illusion. She said that God's all-embracing love eternally protects His creation; that nothing can operate contrary to the law of Love; and that we must know that our boy, as God's child, reflected the Divine Being.
Although I could not immediately understand my mother's explanations of Truth, I grasped the spirit of her words, so that after an inner struggle I could really say with great confidence, "Our heavenly Father, we praise Thee!" The victory was glorious.
