Our love for Thee unselfed must be.
The holy Word of Truth reveals
That only unselfed love can see
The Christ that saves and heals.
When self in humbled gladness lays
Its trusted idols at Thy feet,
Comes good, unknown to mortal praise.
Then consecration sweet
With patient faith in strength will glow,
And purity will clothe the heart.
Affection's first fruits freely flow
To Thee, because Thou art.
