After receiving much good from the study and demonstration of Christian Science, I feel that it is a duty and privilege to express my gratitude in this testimony.
An outstanding healing, and one which I shall ever recall with gratitude, was of deafness caused by mastoid abscesses, which the physician who attended me at the time declared had pierced both eardrums. I had felt that I could never be happy again if I were not able to hear, for my musical education and the songs of the birds meant so much to me. Then one happy day, while I was reading The Christian Science Journal, I exclaimed, "Oh, I can hear the clock ticking!" My hearing continued to improve steadily from that time, until it was entirely restored. This healing occurred over twenty years ago, and continued application of the truths of Christian Science has enabled me to prove the omnipotence of God in many problems since that time.
Another experience for which I express great gratitude to God was the healing of a difficulty which was keeping me awake at night and causing severe headaches. I did not know the cause, but I did know that I could put entire trust in divine Mind. One day, when I was feeling so badly that I could not work, I decided that I must do something about it. I sat down and started reading a Christian Science Sentinel. After reading a short time I suddenly felt something in me give way, and I then realized that I was healed. The headaches disappeared, together with all the depressed conditions, and I had no recurrence of the difficulty from that time on.
