Perfect, infinite creation is the fact, consistent with the obvious character of the great First Cause. Interpreted in the light of humanity's need, this absolute fact unfolds to the human consciousness, aware of its own insufficiency, the sure law of salvation. The Scriptures reveal God's allness, and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy shows how, through an understanding of the Science of being, men may be saved from the schisms of sense. Mrs. Eddy correlates Science and Christianity when she declares on page 271 of this great textbook, "Christ's Christianity is the chain of scientific being reappearing in all ages, maintaining its obvious correspondence with the Scriptures and uniting all periods in the design of God."
Human betterment follows the better understanding of God's goodness and man's perfection. When Peter said to him, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God," Jesus declared Peter's blessedness in having beheld the rock, Christ, upon which the church was to be founded. To discover the Christ-ideal where only a personal sense of selfhood has been seen, is to find the unassailable Principle of eternal unity.
The Mother Church, with its branches, is a permanent institution, whose mission is the reinstatement of Christ's Christianity. It rests upon the truth concerning God and man, which alone has power to rescue mankind from bondage to false beliefs. Mary Baker Eddy is the Leader of the Christian Science movement, because she followed the Christ implicitly, and besought all Christian Scientists to do the same. By reason of the spiritual permanency which this church signalizes, it attracts to its membership those who seek the shelter and the impulsion of spirituality. It welcomes all who would find and prove Christ's Christianity, which unites "all periods in the design of God."
