THE MESSAGE

From the January 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine."—Isaiah 43:1.

Take courage, child! Place all your trust in Spirit,
In God alone, who loveth you so well,
And has to you been proved a sheltering tower
Midst all the subtle darknesses of hell.
His mighty love eternally surrounds you;
It is your being—man at one with Love!
The knowledge of the tender Father-Mother
Lifts human thought until it soars above
All that is false, discouraging, and fleeting,
All that would cause dismay upon the earth:
And you are safe, for God is with you always.
So be ye steadfast, strong, and prove your worth!
Show to the world that man is God's own image;
Go forth and be His witness, brave and true;
Lift up the weak, give courage to the fearful.
Haste to obey, for God is calling you.
He needs your tender word to bear His message
Of Christian Science to the world today;
His strength, His love, His courage He is giving,
To help you forward on the upward way.
