One of the principal characteristics of material things and human conditions is impermanence. They are subject to fluctuation and variability. They come and go, appear and disappear, like bubbles on a river, but spiritual ideas and divine facts are changeless and eternal. The Apostle Paul emphasized this fact when he said in his epistle to the Corinthians, "The things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Health, for example, considered as a material or physical condition, is in the highest degree impermanent. It may appear to be present today and to be gone tomorrow. It may seem to be better at one time than at another. It often seems to be experienced in a greater degree by one person than by another. But real health as a quality of divine Mind is ever present, changeless. It is enjoyed by all individuals, in their true nature, at all times.
Health—spiritual wholeness—is in no way affected by or dependent upon matter. It is not governed, influenced, or regulated by so-called material laws. Real health is not affected in the least by inherited beliefs or by what are regarded as laws of physiology or material medicine. Health, being a quality of divine Mind, Spirit, is sustained and perpetuated by spiritual law.
