"THE ILLUMINATIONS OF SCIENCE"

From the November 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the record of creation as given in the first chapter of Genesis we are told that God's first command was, "Let there be light." Deity spake and it was done. The record goes on to say that the light "was good," and that "God divided the light from the darkness."

Christian Science has come in this age bringing spiritual light to men. Its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 596), "The illuminations of Science give us a sense of the nothingness of error, and they show the spiritual inspiration of Love and Truth to be the only fit preparation for admission to the presence and power of the Most High."

Christ Jesus brought the light of Truth to a world which was dark with materiality. He made it clear that he was not the source of divine light, but the messenger of God. He demonstrated the Christ, Truth, which illumines human thought, transforming it with the glorious radiance of spiritual understanding.
