UNFAILING REFUGE

From the November 1940 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Be not afraid! The Lord thy God is near;
He will deliver thee, thou need'st not fear.
Trust in His love when storms of sense assail,
He will thy refuge be; Love doth not fail.

Be not afraid! Earth's sorrows are but dreams,
Phantoms that flee before Truth's radiant beams.
Cling close to Him when fear and hate seem rife;
Love stills all fears and quells both hate and strife.

Be not afraid! God cares for thine and thee,
Through war's dire din o'er land and sky and sea.
Be still, be strong; peace shall at length prevail.
Love's power alone is real; Love doth not fail.
