With deepest gratitude for a religion which draws one near to God in word and deed, I offer this testimony of the healing efficacy of Christian Science.
Though many healings and blessings have been my portion, I should like to give testimony to a healing of torn ligaments in one leg, caused by my falling down several steps. From the snapping sound as I struck the lower step, I first thought my leg was broken, and although almost unconscious from pain, I crawled to a near-by telephone and asked help from a faithful practitioner. Her reassuring words showed me that I could, with God's help, go to my piano and give a singing lesson with no apology to the student. In a short time the leg was swollen twice its normal size, and I remember my great need, during the next two weeks, constantly to lean upon God's love. Although the use of a cane was necessary for a few days, I did not change a lesson on my daily schedule, nor did I miss any church service during this experience.
Words are inadequate to express the gratitude I feel to our brave and beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for Christian Science, which today is blessing and healing the entire world, and for the healings, spiritual, mental, moral, and physical, that have been mine.— Portland, Oregon.
