The Christian Science Board of Directors announces the opening of The Mother Church War Relief Fund, for which the Treasurer will receive contributions from within the United States to be used "for food and clothing to relieve human suffering" in some of the countries which are at war. Christian Science Wartime Committees of The Mother Church have been appointed to administer this relief in Canada, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and in France. The Mother Church has registered under the United States Neutrality Act of 1939, which limits the purposes for which money may be collected or received in this country to be expended in countries which are at war. The Christian Science Board of Directors expects to extend this relief to other countries when and as the way opens.
The Mother Church War Relief Fund will not conflict with the Christian Science Literature International Distribution Fund, for each of these Funds will be administered for a separate and distinct purpose. Contributors to either fund should specify the fund by its name when sending their contributions to Edward L. Ripley, Treasurer, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston, Massachusetts.
