The inspired Revelator, referring to Christ Jesus, writes, "Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
Just how has Christ Jesus "made us kings and priests unto God," and what does this statement mean? Was not John describing in majestic and reverent terms the high and holy redemption through Christ of those who have overcome the false testimony of the material senses?
Jesus bore faithful witness to the real man's spiritual estate, and clearly perceived and demonstrated how the understanding of man's at-one-ment with God overcomes false beliefs. He thereby exercised spiritual dominion over evil, and scientifically refuted material beliefs by his gracious surrender and obedience to God's will, thus illustrating for all time the divine plan of salvation. This he did that all men, by emulating his obedience and his exemplification of the Christ-power, might come into their divine heritage of dominion as "kings and priests unto God." Thus each one of us may fulfill his divine destiny as a child of God.
