"THERE IS A PLACE BY ME"

From the December 1941 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There is a place prepared of God,
With Love's abundance stored,
Where Life's eternal treasures are
Unceasingly outpoured,
And error's claims are void of power,
For Truth alone is Lord.

It is the secret place, above
All discord, pain, and woe,
The sure retreat, where longing hearts
May to the Father go,
And, hid from sense with Christ in God,
Perpetual concord know.

Yet none need wait for future days
This promised land to win.
All can, with God-reflected power,
Refute the lies of sin;
Accepting nought but good as true,
Find heaven at hand, within!

Lo! now the Father's loving arm
Encircles thine and thee,
While waiting hours can but unfold
Man's God-wrought harmony.
This day, with joy, we all can prove,
"There is a place by me."
