In"Unity of Good" (p. 7) Mrs. Eddy has written, "An acknowledgment of the perfection of the infinite Unseen confers a power nothing else can."
The first definite proof of the power of divine Love to meet every need came with the healing of a hand crushed in an electric wringer. While the pain seemed intense I refused to look at the false evidence which the material senses were trying to present. Declaring the perfection of God and man in His image and likeness and clinging to the truth of "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468), I called for help from a Christian Science practitioner. The work was taken up immediately, and in half an hour the pain entirely disappeared from consciousness. The healing was complete, and I was able joyously to continue with the duties of the day without the slightest inconvenience.
We have had many beautiful healings in our home, some through our own work and study with the textbook, others with help from practitioners. There have been healings of sprained ankles, boils, blood poisoning, tonsillitis, influenza, burns, and many other discordant conditions. I was very grateful for a healing of a member of the family a few years ago. While on a vacation in the East, this one was suddenly taken ill, and it did not seem possible for her to continue that night the journey from New York to Boston.
