From the February 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Gratitude for the joyousness and peace of mind which have been mine since I began earnestly to study Christian Science, together with my restoration to health, prompts me to take advantage of this avenue which has been so graciously provided for us, to tell of the ''new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God."

When a child, I attended the Christian Science Sunday School for a few years. Christian Science was not used or studied in my home, however, and without a practical foundation of demonstration, I accepted the material theories offered in high school and college, and gradually left the true for the false teaching.

Then followed some ten years of increasing ill-health. Though leading an active life, I was ill-humored and usually under great strain to the point of exhaustion. I scarcely had a day without pain of some sort— severe headaches, backaches, colds, and bowel trouble. During the last six years of this period of darkness I had constant medical, chiropractic, or osteopathic treatments, which, though conscientiously administered, afforded no permanent relief.
