"Love one another."
These words, ablaze with glorious light,
Shine forth through darkened labyrinths of fear,
Demanding demonstration of God's might.
They challenge us to lift the beacon here
Of Christliness, of knowing man aright
As God's dear child.
No sentimental basking in false sense
Of personal attraction, stupid ease,
Can dim the radiance of omnipotence,
Nor cloud the honest vision, nor deceive.
Love, Principle—these words, immense
With meaning, speak
To every listening ear to bless and heal.
We contemplate their oneness absolute,
And in humility we rise to feel
The brotherhood of man; our lips grow mute,
And in Christ's perfect peace we know the real.
