NOTICE FROM THE DIRECTORS

From the March 1942 issue of The Christian Science Journal

To meet the present war emergency there will no doubt be instituted certain national, state, and local defense measures or regulations for the protection of persons and property from possible enemy action.

Christian Scientists individually, as well as branch Christian Science churches and societies, will, of course, promptly and willingly obey such regulations, and co-operate wholeheartedly with those in authority in seeing that they are carried out.

Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has said: "I believe in obeying the laws of the land. I practise and teach this obedience, since justice is the moral signification of law" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany 220:12-14).
