Because I live on a farm and do not have the privilege of attending church services, I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science through the literature.
I came to the United States from Denmark when I was fifteen years old, and found myself confronted with two great problems—that of learning a new language and of finding employment. After I had been in this country a few years I became ill and suffered intense pain. I had a great longing to be free from fear, unhappiness, and suffering, and was instantaneously healed when some friends presented Christian Science to me. This brought me much happiness and joy for a number of years. Then suggestions of a return of old symptoms almost overwhelmed me with fear. The struggle was long and the complete healing gradual, but now my freedom is fully and entirely established.
In raising our family we have had wonderful healings and protection in cases of so-called contagious diseases and accidents. During all these years all our human needs have been supplied when depression, drought, grasshoppers, and other pestilences were prevalent in our part of the country.
