"THE LAND OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE"

From the December 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall
stand
Between their loved homes and the
war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may our
heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and
preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, for our cause it
is just,
And this be our motto: 'In God is our
trust.'
And the star-spangled banner in triumph
shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home
of the brave!"

Never have these words from the national anthem of the United States of America been more tenderly cherished in the hearts of her people. Never in the world's history has there been, on the part of freedom-loving men everywhere, so great a determination to make of every country a "land of the free" and a "home of the brave!" God-loving people are united in their desire that all lands and peoples shall come not under the flag of one nation, but under the banner of God's love.

The all-impelling purpose to establish justice and freedom in the world has taken millions of brave men and women far from home and country. Seldom do they know what is to be the order of the day, and they cannot count on being located permanently anywhere.
