SECURITY

From the December 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The futility of human endeavor without the direction and protection of God is clearly outlined in a familiar hymn:

"Vainly, through night's weary hours,
Keep we watch, lest foes alarm;
Vain our bulwarks and our towers,
But for God's protecting arm."

Before considering how to attain security, and before we can even hope to establish this desirable condition in our lives, we must first know clearly what is meant by security, and where it is to be found. It is obvious that it cannot be obtained either in matter or by material means.
