Christian Science has so regenerated me that it is difficult to express in words my humble gratitude for the many blessings that I have received through its study and application. "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'" This passage, on page 444 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I have found to be true. When trusting all to God and obeying Him, one can solve each problem harmoniously.
My first healing came in an extremity when I felt that there was nothing to go on with. I had found life to be bitterly disappointing, and it was at this point that I saw, too, that to try to end my existence (a step I was seriously considering) was also futile, because I could see that such a step was not a solution. I somehow knew I must work things out here or hereafter. And with that realization, I knew I must work it out here. Then I began to search for God. I realized there was no other way. I had spent seven months in a sanatorium in a weakened physical condition and unhappy state of mind and had returned home, improved neither mentally nor physically.
Later I was invited to visit my sister. When I reached her home I found that she had taken up the study of Christian Science a few weeks previously. Realizing how much I was in need of its healing, she was eager to pass it on to me. I was a little skeptical of it at first, but I was willing to try anything that might bring me peace, for I seemed to be bordering on insanity.
