It should not seem miraculous, nor should it appear at all strange, that today thousands of people are enjoying full restoration to health because they have been healed through Christian Science treatment. There are some, however, who question how the healing is accomplished, and so it may not be amiss to say that the same law of God, the law of good, which operated when Christ Jesus was on earth, is here now to bring healing to mankind, healing of both mind and body. It is through the power of the Christ, Truth, that scientific healing is accomplished.
It was revealed to Mary Baker Eddy that God is divine Mind, infinite Principle, and there is consequently no power apart from this supreme and perfect Mind. It was also revealed to our dear Leader that man is the perfect reflection of God.
Those who investigate the teaching of Christian Science learn that the seeming opposite of the divine Mind, God, is a false belief, is error, or mortal mind, which has in reality no power and no existence. In the Preface to her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy explains how healing is attained. For here she has written (p. xi): "The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are the sign of Immanuel, or 'God with us,' — a divine influence ever present in human consciousness and repeating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime,
