The healing works of Christ Jesus bear witness to man's ability to see the eternal, perfect nature of man, and to understand and prove Biblical promises. The transforming power of real knowledge and true vision is maintained in individual experience through receptivity to the teaching of Jesus, who said, "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death."
Jesus understood God and the law of God. From his teachings we learn to know God as the Father, or cause of all that is good and real, and from the example of Jesus we see how it is possible to work from a perfect cause to a perfect effect.
Bartimaeus of Jericho appealed to Jesus to heal his blindness. As he approached the Master, he cast aside his beggar's garment—the garment of doubt and fear, associated with lack and limitation. The response to his petition was instant healing. Mark records the event: "And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way."
