TRUE PRAYER

From the August 1943 issue of The Christian Science Journal

These words from the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 284) clearly define prayer:

Prayer is the heart's sincere desire,
Uttered or unexpressed.

Christian Science, Christ's Christianity, fulfills "the heart's sincere desire" in a knowledge and demonstration of the omnipresent qualities of God, Spirit. The realization and demonstration of spiritual things comes from true prayer, in the form of petition, affirmation, or communion.
