SELFLESS GIVING

From the June 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Oh, let us give, without a thought of gain,
Give gladly from our hearts so richly full
Of Truth that it may heal another's pain,
Or wash a sinner's heart as "white as wool."

And if we cannot give to those who gave
Abundantly to us, oh, let us give
To those who seem to lack, and still are brave.
Oh, let us give them love, that they may live.

Oh, may we give, and never count the cost;
Give love to those who may be sad of heart;
Give truth, the guiding signpost, to the lost;
And giving, in God's work we have our part.
