Through this testimony I wish to express my gratitude to God for His many blessings. I find through the study of Science and Health and the other writings of Mrs. Eddy that my understanding of the Bible has greatly increased. I have a better understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him. For this I am grateful.
Through the study of Christian Science I am endeavoring to see man as God's idea and therefore honest. I had an interesting and happy experience while teaching in the public schools of a large city. At the end of a school day I found that a five-dollar bill was missing from my purse. It had been my habit to put this purse into a drawer which I did not lock, not realizing that I was placing temptation in the way of anyone. I was obedient to the rules of the school by reporting the loss at once to the principal. It was not long until my fellow teachers were asking me if I knew who the "thief" was, and this went on for many days. My answer was, "No," and every time I knew mentally that God's idea is honest and does not want anything that does not belong to him.
Early one morning two weeks later an envelope containing five dollars was found by the custodian under the school door. It was marked, "For the teacher from whom this was taken." I was grateful that honesty was so strong in the consciousness of the individual that it was necessary for him to return something which was not his. Christian Science was also helpful to me in handling the many problems with which a teacher finds it necessary to deal.
