A Spiritual awakening is taking place throughout the civilized world. It may be slowly perceived at its present stage, but it is already apparent to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. The Christ as revealed in Christian Science is restoring spiritual values, reinstating spiritual power, and ushering in the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Many have awakened to the power of Truth and are demonstrating it by works of regeneration and healing. In these books we find the healing Christ revealed, explained, and made practical. Once the truth has been understood, the wise disciple sticks firmly to it in the face of all circumstances.
Those who have gained a glimpse of the kingdom of God, which is now at hand, can echo the joy of Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, who, filled with the Holy Ghost, said (Luke 1:68), "Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people." A spiritual awakening had come to Zacharias. His words indicate that he recognized the redemption of mankind to be no longer a future event, but an ever-present actuality.
