"Go, wash in the pool of Siloam"

From the May 1950 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Go, wash"—the hearer felt the imperative intent,
So that, without questioning,
he straightway rose and went.
Oh, whiter than break of day upon the mountain's height
The light of perception, dawning,
dispelled his lack of sight.

All may now see as the Master saw, with vision rare,
Commanding "Go!" because obedience
was needed there,
And adding, "Wash," since purity was needed to restore
Wholeness to the faltering sense
that lacked its light before.
