I was brought up in Christian Science, but did not really appreciate it until it healed me of a complete nervous breakdown and extreme fear of seven years' standing. Often I became discouraged and felt impelled to give up, but always upon opening Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I would find some truth which would give me a crumb of comfort to go on. My complete healing finally came and has been permanent.
We had two sons and a daughter of our own, but we wanted to adopt a little girl. When we made application, we were told that we might have to wait as long as two years. I maintained the fact that God provides for His children. At the end of two weeks we were called and told that there was a little girl two years of age available for adoption, but that she was considered a problem child. She was the age we wanted, and we decided to take her. What a blessing this child has been to us all!
I am most grateful to Christ Jesus and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. I am also grateful to be active in church work. Teaching in the Christian Science Sunday School has proved a great blessing, for I am learning far more than I could ever teach. Class instruction has opened the door of spiritual understanding for me, and the knowledge that there is but one teacher, God, was the means of healing me of grief.— Knoxville, Tennessee.
