"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matt. 12:34). Often to our human or mortal sense the way Spirit-ward seems long and burdensome, but a glorious light is thrown on our earthly experience through the teachings of Christian Science. So may we all rejoice and thank God for His Son, Christ Jesus, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
Some thirty-five years ago the physicians gave me up to die. Many illnesses and a number of major operations had severely depleted my strength; and there were to be more operations. A dear friend, who is a Christian Scientist, said to my husband, "Why does not your wife have Christian Science treatment?" I was ready to listen to this message of love, and I accepted the truth as revealed in Science. In six weeks' time the trouble disappeared. I have also been healed of prostrating sick headaches. This healing occurred twenty years ago, and it has been permanent.
I have witnessed many healings in my family. One of the most inspiring was that of mental surgery through Christian Science. The infection disappeared, all impurities were cleansed, and the wounds closed and healed; there was not even a scar. God's Word was certainly made manifest through the thought of a consecrated practitioner. This healing took place about nine years ago and was for me an awakening experience. I began to see that there was nothing actually to be healed and that what I needed was a clearer understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him.
